The Classic Pilates method works the body as it was designed to work organically. Whether your goal is overall conditioning, or you are recovering from an injury, or a physical challenge, Pilates is beneficial as a conditioning program and as therapy.

The Classic Pilates Method leaves you feeling energized, supple, graceful and strong. Imagine looking forward to your workout, instead of dreading a formulaic, boring series of exercises. These precise movements stretch one muscle group while strengthening another, all the while originating from abdominal control. The result is a toned body, but without the bulk seen in more conventional exercise methods.

Private Lesson & Semi-Private Group Sessions

Through one-on-one instruction, Adrienne hones in on a client’s particular needs, goals and physical limitations due to posture, injury or comfort level, and then designs a customized menu of exercises to address them. For the more advanced client, private lessons can focus on a particular challenge, or address general strength, flexibility and precision goals.

Semi-Private Group Sessions

As a dedicated teacher, through semi-private group instruction, Adrienne seeks to educate each of her students, focused on body awareness, carriage and posture. She hones in on a client’s particular needs, goals and physical limitations due to posture, injury or comfort level, and then designs a customized menu of exercises to address them.

  • Semi Private lessons are for 2-4 clients who wish to share the session.
  • Clients must be at a similar fitness level and be able to work independently.
  • Client knows the names of the exercises in their program and order in which they are performed.
  • Client knows how to set up the equipment.

Studio  Policy:

  • All sessions are by appointment and prepaid. 
  • All sessions are 50 minutes.
  • There is a 24 hr cancellation policy. Clients will be charged the full amount of the session unless 24 hr notice is given.

  • Preparing for your session: Eat lightly, No heavy perfume or lotions 
  • Wear appropriate workout clothes ( no street clothes). Tights, leggings, yoga pants, gym shorts, tee shirts or athletic tops. Socks are required. Please do not wear clothing with zippers or grommets as they can damage equipment.
  • No food, beverages (except water), or chewing gum allowed

These precise movements stretch one muscle group while strengthening another, all the while originating from abdominal control. The result is a toned body, but without the bulk seen in more conventional exercise methods.

Core. Control. Concentration.

At the core of Classic Pilates is the notion of the “powerhouse,” which is comprised of the upper and lower abdominal muscles, the lower back and the buttocks. All movements are initiated from the powerhouse, which strengthens the support muscles deep within the body—muscles that are often overlooked in conventional weight bearing or aerobic exercise. By stabilizing the powerhouse through control and concentration during the exercises, the arms and legs can move freely from a stable spine, increasing both flexibility and strength and ultimately translating to better posture in everyday life.

You don’t have to be a dancer, an athlete or a gymnast to participate in Studio Adrienne classic Pilates. What is helpful, however, is a desire to imagine your body as an integrated, elegant machine, one that will become more efficient, more fluid, stronger and leaner with Pilates practice.
